Why do people give blood, and how can one donation help more than one person?
Introduce this life-saving topic through three carefully levelled texts: Starter, Standard, and Stretch. Each version is designed to build reading confidence and develop deeper comprehension skills over time.
Reading skills build progressively throughout the pack. Early levels focus on simple retrieval and matching. Higher levels introduce vocabulary work, encourage inference, and explore the author’s intent. A simple traffic light self-assessment helps pupils reflect on their understanding.
Across all levels, students will learn that blood donation helps people who are sick or injured, hospitals use blood during surgery and emergencies, and blood contains four parts, each with its own role. They will also discover that donors must meet certain health requirements, World Blood Donor Day celebrates those who give, and that one donation can help save several lives.
