A complete scheme of work including 6 practical lessons.

This SOW focuses on the foundations of Bollywood as a Dance style as well as exploring various elements of India Culture including, Hinduism, Diwali, Yoga and the origins of Bollywood.

Students will learn how to use action content whilst learning a variety of Bollywood movements. They will explore how to implement and perform the choreographic device fragmentation. There are lessons that include dancing with props in the form of coloured scarves (these can be purchased on cheaply on amazon, ebay or temu if you wish to include them).

This is a cross-curricular scheme of work that incorporates elements of history and religious education. It is super fun and includes peer feedback tasks, starters, plenaries, self-assessment activities, scaffolded group tasks and extension tasks. The SOW of work builds up to a performance in lesson 6 which includes self-assessment.

Suitable for Primary and KS3.

Any upbeat Bollywood inspired song will work well for this, there are x4 simple Bollywood movements included in these lessons. Examples of what they look like being performed can be found on Youtube if you need.
