Wolves is a clever, darkly comical picture book by British author and illustrator Emily Gravett that blurs the line between fiction and non-fiction. It follows a curious rabbit who borrows a book about wolves from the library. As he reads, fact and reality begin to merge in unexpected and chilling ways. With layered illustrations, metafictional twists and a surprise ending (or two!), Wolves invites readers to question what they believe and pay attention to what’s lurking just off the page.
This picture book study for high potential students was created using Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy, the Freya model for vocabulary development, the Williams model of curriculum differentiation and the SCAMPER model.
The questions have been developed as both task cards and as a sheet to glue into books. This way, you can choose whether to assign all tasks to students or individual tasks to students.
