Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? Synopsis:
A vain 15 year old girl named Connie has a cocky attitude and feels superior to her family and everyone around her. Connie and her mother argue; her dad ignores the family dynamics and just wants supper and his newspaper, and older sister June is mom’s favorite because she follows the status quo. One evening, while Connie is out with her friends and meets up with Eddie at a burger restaurant, a new guy in town points at her in the parking lot and tries to woo her, but Connie ignores him. On a Sunday afternoon, Connie’s family visits their aunt Tillie. Connie refuses to join them so she is left home alone. Just as quickly as they depart, the stranger from the burger restaurant parking lot pulls up on the driveway. He is an older man named Arnold who claims to be a little older than 18. He has a suspicious friend in the passenger seat who is listening to a portable radio. Arnold tries to entice Connie to enter his car for an adventure. As the conversation goes on, Connie is scared of Arnold and says she will call the police or wait for her family to return. Arnold and his friend make light threats to Connie; Arnold says he will break into her house if she picks up the phone and he will menace her family if Connie waits for them. He also threatens to cut the phone wires. Arnold is now standing on the front porch looking into the locked doorway and sneering. What will Connie do?
