Organisations, movements & members - Explaining the growth of religious movements is the 6th topic which is part of the unit on Beliefs in Society. There are 3 parts to this topic:

6.a) Types of religious organisation
6.b) Explaining the growth of religious movements
6.c) Religiosity and social groups

This is an interactive lesson, with opportunities for paired/group activities. To help students further engage with the topic, there are contemporary videos and reading materials included.

Lesson objectives:
• To outline the Sociological explanations for the origins, development and future of different religious organisations.

This lesson is delivered part of the wider scheme of work for Beliefs in Society, would follow on from L6.a) Types of religious organisation, which is available as individual lessons or as a discounted bundle in the shop!

To continue the scheme of work, the next topic is L6.c) Organisation, movements and members - Religiosity and social groups, which is also available in our shop.
