Aimed at KS2 and KS3, but also suitable for KS4 - for 40 minutes lesson - adaptable resources.

This is focused on team building, discussion, and critical thinking components. Students enjoy this activity very much and is used to showcase the fun subject.

PPT to be used with setting the scene and reading the story

A real hurricane kit can be used for visuals and more interactive with touch. Another option is to print out images of items to place around the room.

Group task through discussion using the worksheets
Students discuss which items to pack in their kit - Document has a list of items that are useful as well as useless but fun/ tempting to them

Students then have to choose/ rank the top 5 and why because they can’t carry everything.

Results are shared and students find out whether their group has survived or not

Font is larger for younger students like in reading books when setting the scene. Wording is for younger or lower ability students - adaptable.

The rest are normal size with enough space to write their discussions.
