Every picture showcases different objects, animals, or scenes with varying quantities up to 5. Children will need to look at the pictures one by one and, carefully, observe the objects in each image. Encourage the children to subitise, identify and discuss how many objects are in each picture and how they see them.Next, guide the children in identifying and spotting the number bonds to 5 within the photos. For example, if there are 3 apples in a picture, ask the children how many more objects would make 5, prompting them to recognize the number bond 3 + 2. Engage the children in a conversation about the different number bonds they have spotted, and encourage them to explain their thought process.
