Bundle of different resources designed around the theme ‘Living in Space’ for Space Week 2025. Aimed at Year 5/6, but most activities would be accessible for Year 3/4.

Download includes:

  • Science experiment - grow seeds like an astronaut (growing cress seeds on soil, cotton wool and paper towel - with and without water). Includes introductory information, instruction sheet, results table, write-up template (aim, method, hypothesis, conclusion etc). I would suggest starting this experiment on a Monday morning, then the children can examine the seeds each day for the rest of the week and record their results.
  • History - timeline of key space events, cut and stick activity.
  • Design a space base worksheet.
  • Creative writing task - ‘A day in the life on Mars’ (word bank included - more suited to Year 5/6).
  • My favourite planet worksheet.
  • 5 colouring in pages (simple designs).
  • Space bingo game (display the image of 12 space themed words at the front of the classroom, each child picks 6 words and writes them on their bingo card. Teacher randomly picks 6 words and first child to mark off all 6 of their words wins). There are 924 different combinations of the 12 words with each child picking 6, so pretty unlikely that more than one child will pick the same combination!
