A timeline of all events as they happen throughout the week in Romeo and Juliet, beginning in the morning on Sunday and ending at early dawn on Friday. Each detail is plotted onto the timeline accurately with either exact times (eg. 9am, noon) or approximate times (eg. late evening, early afternoon).
Ideas for use in classroom:
as a display poster
cut out events and have students place them where they think they go on the timeline (whole class/group/pairs/individual)
quote finder activity - find and select quotes from the play which tell us when each event happens (for example: A1S1; Romeo: “Is the day so young?” Benvolio: “But new struck nine”.
