An annotated diagram that maps out the English phonemes in terms of their place of articulation in the human vocal tract. The annotations include:

  • mirrored diagrams for consonants and vowels
  • colour-coding between text and image for places of articulation
  • labels and explanations for how parts of the vocal tract work
  • a list of diphthong and triphthong vowels
  • a list of voiced and voiceless consonants

All the images and text are vector graphics, so they can be printed at any size without becoming pixelated. The download includes colour PDF files in both landscape and portrait formats to suit whatever your reprographics team are able to do, along with white and cream backgrounds provided for differentiation. The portrait pages, when placed side-by-side, form a landscape poster.
