
NEW for 2026 DfE RSHE Guidelines - in this PSHE lesson students will discover how to maintain healthy brain development, from pre-natal care, to baby care, right the way up to adulthood. They will investigate the effects of good parenting on children, what this looks like as well as the negative effects of outside/environmental influences such as screen-time on the developing brain. Lasts one hour, editable, could be used for KS3 or KS4.
This lesson has been created specifically to cover the new RSHE DfE guidance, specifically:
**HPP7. **The importance of healthy behaviours before and during pregnancy, including the importance of pre-conception health, including taking folic acid
DB2. The facts about puberty, the changing adolescent body, including brain development.
F7. The roles and responsibilities of parents with respect to raising children, including the characteristics of successful parenting and the importance of the early years of a child’s life for brain development.
