If you’re looking for a fun activity to help your students learn the nine stars which make up the Matariki star cluster, then this will be a great craft to make.

Children will cut out and glue on the nine stars of the Matariki star cluster above their names. They can then glue on some tamariki and fold the craft into a diorama that they can display on their desk or table.

There are visual instructions, although it’s a very easy craft to put together.

Ideas for use:

  • whole-school rotation activity
  • station activity
  • library project
  • whole-class activity

Colour and ink saver versions are included.

I hope your students have fun making their Matariki dioramas!
