This fun and active learning marketplace activity is designed to encourage your students to move around the classroom and collaborate effectively, whilst evaluating how tolerantly Medieval society treated different groups whilst enhancing their critical analytical skills and deepening their understanding of our Modern British Values.
The main task looks at the treatment of Jews, Muslims, Lepers and Heretics. This investigation can be extended by looking at the treatment of Vikings during the St Brice’s Day Massacre, Women and Medicine and a case study which looks at the massacre of the Jewish population in York.
The lesson features diverse support activities tailored to accommodate various learning needs, with a comprehensive resource section at the end that provides additional photocopying materials and support tasks for an optional extended writing exercise including a review triangle exercise which group suffered the most, writing frames and PEEL templates.
