Encourage your students to explore the evolution of fur in rabbits via the changes in allele frequencies in subsequent generations with this simulation activity! The students will use the scientific method toformulate hypotheses and put them to the test. Ideal to teach dominant-recessive heredity of traits to 11-12th grade students. It is aligned with NGSS Disciplinary Core Ideas: LS3A and B and LS4B and C, Crosscutting Concepts: Scientific Knowledge Assumes an Order and Consistency in Natural Systems and Science Practices: Using Mathematics and Computational Thinking.
The activity consists of a teacher guide with the necessary theoretical background and step-by-step procedure and a students' worksheet that helps them develop their scientific thinking.
