
A three week unit of work focused on four poems from the Harlem Renaissance. Builds skills in independent analysis, writing PEA paragraphs and leads to an outcome of students’ choice where they show understanding of the historical context and importance of a poem of their choice.
This was taught to a top set S2 class and doesn’t include any teaching of poetic techniques but includes retrieval activities.
