Get ready to celebrate Halloween with this fun, engaging, and collaborative pumpkin-themed art project! Students will work together to create a large mural featuring several spooky jack-o’-lanterns with a “Happy Halloween” message. Each student will contribute by coloring one or more sections of the mural, which, when assembled, will form a vibrant Halloween-themed masterpiece to display in the classroom, hallway, or school entryway.

Students will collaborate to create a large, colorful Halloween poster/mural measuring 108cm(Length) X 108cm(Height). The poster is divided into 36 tiles that are already enlarged, each measuring 18cm X 18cm. The learners only need to color and then assemble. The colors have NOT been assigned. The teacher can choose to follow the sample given, or the students can make their own choices.

This activity is important since students will understand Unity and Variety as important principles of design that gives an artwork a sense of cohesion or coherence. Unity and variety in art are often discussed together, because ultimately an artwork must contain both unity and variety to be a successful work of art, and there must be a balance between the two.
