Here are speaking games I have created to encourage my young learners to practise their speaking skills. I follow the content of Primary Sentence Builders by Gianfranco Conti.
I play these games as a whole class first (teacher vs children, boys vs girls so that I can monitor their French). I play these games at the end of a topic when the children are fairly confident with the language.
You will find a four in a row/ connect four games on (basics French, how you feel and why using adjectives, stationery, places in town).
You will also battle-ship games (ca va parce que je suis, pets and colours, places in town…to do with older children as it can take for ever).
