Story Clue Picture Cards – Group Discussion and Story Prediction Activity
This set includes 5 picture cards, each designed for a small group of children. The activity encourages discussion, inference, and teamwork as each group examines their picture and guesses which familiar story it might belong to.
Each group takes time to look closely at their card, talk about what they see, and decide together which story they think it represents. Once everyone has had time to discuss, groups take turns announcing their chosen story and showing their picture to the class. Together, the class reflects on the clues and decides if the images connect to the story they predicted.
This activity is ideal for morning settling time or as a speaking and listening starter, fostering communication skills, reasoning, and collaboration.
It has proven extremely popular as a calm and purposeful way to welcome children into class while encouraging meaningful early literacy thinking.
