To help support some of our EYFS and year 1 children to blend, we created a pictorial version of the FRED games used by RWI. There are 8 different categories in this resource with each resource containing 6 pictures and words.
These can be printed and laminated or put into plastic wallets or reusable wallets for the children to draw on.
When using them personally, I have had a copy printed for each child, all of who have a whiteboard pen. I would say circle the d-o-g and they had to circle the dog. You can make this a game if you wish. For children that are still learning to recognize the letters, the games can be used by saying circle the word starting with m.
The topics included on each of the games are clothing, weather, people, parts of the body, food x2, pets and instruments.
