This powerpoint has everything for a 7 week scheme of work based around Emotional Intelligence through Dance. It includes 4 counts of 8 written choreography for you to follow and teach students at the beginning. The dance is based around Christopher Bruse’s Swansong; a dance that tells a story following a prisoner being questioned by two guards. At first, the prisoner’s movements are small and defensive, showing fear. As the dance continues, the prisoner fights back and resists, using bigger, more expressive movements. The dance is broken down into 4 sections; The foreboding, The struggle, Breaking out and Freedom. The written choreography is the first section; The Foreboding and the powerepoint has choreography tasks for the remaining 3 sections for students to work through. This scheme of work is base around a concept curriculum but could easily be adapted for any dance scheme of work. Learning objectives for each lesson with a KNOW, SHOW and GROW criteria is included. Finally there are peer feedback tasks throughout.
