Edexcel English Language Paper 1 lesson that focuses on structure - how to start a text, how to finish a text and how to shift between different foci throughout. We look at an extract and how the writer builds a coherent structure, thinking about the impact of changing the focus on the reader. A fully differentiated lesson for KS4 students that focuses on answering Q3 in Edexcel English Language Paper 1: structure. The lesson is built around the ‘I’m The King of the Castle’ chapter from Susan Hill’s novel that forms part of the reading resource pack for Paper 1. This can be found here:
