This student activity is great as an Introduction to Economics, scarcity, choices and the Basic Economic Problem.

‘Economic resources are scarce whilst human wants are infinite.’

In other words, choices need to be made about how to allocate scarce resources (economic goods) among alternative uses, and there is always an opportunity cost.

Includes:

• Teacher instructions.

• Students are given 12 patient profiles and a limited amount of hours to allocate between them.

• Two page worksheet in colour and black/white. This guides the students to make their choices and analyse their decisions afterwards using the question prompts on page 2.

• After the analysis, the students must imagine what the Basic Economic Problem might be?

• FILLABLE PDF version.

• PRINT Colour and BW version.
