This is a 9 lesson focused practical task that requires students to manufacture an adjustable mirror from the provided orthographic drawings and job cards. The base materials needed are Aluminium square section, Pine (softwood) and Mirrored Acrylic. Students are tasked with creating some design ideas, a design specification before producing a initial prototype to test design elements.
Each lesson includes two retrieval tasks, clear sharable lesson objectives, DNA (do now activities) and a Teacher narration slide as standard. There are embedded GIF’s (7 second animations) that demonstrate each task that is required from simple marking out to cutting joints to assembling the final CAD drawing. This supports all learners to make progress no matter what stage they are at and frees the teacher up to better support.
The file sizes for each lesson are big due to the inclusion of embedded videos and GIF’s. As a result, they cannot be uploaded to TES directly. I have included a PDF version of the PowerPoint for instant download, a sample of the PowerPoint and a link to the OneDrive file where you can download the full resource and files required to deliver the project.
Included is a student booklet that guides them through the project.
If you like what I have produced for this project please check out my other resources, they all follow a similar structure with a consistent design layout.
