From understanding the risks associated with alcohol to exploring the dangers of opioids, and examining the effects of hallucinogens, each topic is designed to foster informed decision-making and critical thinking skills. Topics include: Alcohol, Cannabis, Nicotine, Vaping & Inhalants, Psychedelics, MDMA & Ecstasy, Amphetamines & Methamphetamine, Cocaine & Crack, and Heroin, Fentanyl, & Prescription Opioids. Stage 1: Students begin by matching ten key vocabulary words with their definitions, laying the groundwork for a more comprehensive grasp of the upcoming text. Stage 2: Students independently or collaboratively read the informational text, either in pairs, small groups, or centers. Stage 3: Comprehension is tested with six multiple-choice questions, ensuring that students have grasped the material before progressing. Stage 4: Students dive deeper with a case study, reading independently or within their group.
