In this 5-step educational series, students will navigate through these critical topics, gaining essential knowledge about the effects, risks, and societal impact of each substance.
From understanding the risks associated with alcohol to exploring the dangers of opioids, and examining the effects of hallucinogens, each topic is designed to foster informed decision-making and critical thinking skills.

Stage 1: Students start by matching ten key vocabulary words with their definitions, setting the stage for a deeper understanding of the upcoming material.
Stage 2: Students read the informational text independently or in pairs, small groups, or centers, building foundational knowledge about each substance.
Stage 3: Comprehension is assessed with six multiple-choice questions, ensuring that students have grasped the key concepts before moving forward.
Stage 4: Students explore a case study related to one of the substances, reading independently or in groups to gain real-world insights and applications.
Stage 5: Another set of six multiple-choice questions tests students on their understanding of the case study, reinforcing their learning.
