This lesson was taught to Y9 about deindustrialisation linking to a previous lesson about the Rostow Model. It includes:

  • Teacher guided section recapping the Rostow Model and what happens when countries move past manufacturing.
  • reasons for Detroit losing its manufacturing jobs table for explanation.
  • The consequences of rapid deindustrialisation.
  • Reading activity in which student circle the correct word/ erase the incorrect word.
  • Students link various ideas together to explain the vicious circle that has happened in Detroit.

Note the APKs/ starters are linked to specific SOWs taught and would need to be edited.
