These resources are original and support the Oak Academy English Unit on Crime and Punishment - my students enjoyed it. The Unit can be adapted for top key stage 3 or in my case, I delivered it to year 10 at key stage 4. The Oak Academy unit compares an old prison and a modern open-prison in Norway. These resources should support your lessons. Included: an oracy task on discussing the rights of prisoners in modern-day prisons in the UK. It is a yes or no activity. This could be done as a whole group or in small groups. Students are required to use the crib sheet with the subject vocab when feeding back to the class on their views.
Also included is a WAGOLL teacher monologue based on the Horrible Histories clip on bbc.cbbc programmme.
