A PDF of some jars to teach the concept of one more and one less.
Print and laminate or add to a dry wipe sleeve.
Children can work individually or in pairs. They add a handful of small objects to the middle ‘my number’ jar. They count these and write the number underneath. They then work out one less and one more and add the objects and numbers.
Wipe clean and repeat.
Great for an EYFS maths or Year 1 maths activity.
