I have created a bundle of 4 assemblies which have been highly researched and are extremely current with content based around the ‘internet and media’ to support young peoples personal safety in our setting and city.
Videos are embedded into powerpoints already and all information is sourced from multiple news sources.
- Fake News - introduction to what this means and examples
- Catfishing - the risks of catfishing (not dating based)
- Dangers of TikTok - what an algorithim is and the content shown
- Sharing is not caring - oversharing issues and how you portray yourself on line with real world consequences
please bare in mind that many examples are specifc to our setting or learners here at the SEMH provision I work in but can be easily adapted but some content is quite direct to ensure the message is put across.
We use these as full school assemblies and have had huge success with them, as a form of CPD with staff as well as a tool for use in key worker times and PSHE. Learners also discuss these assemblies and have gone away and looked up links or stories themselves to further discussion.
