Three introductory lessons to teaching Christina Rossetti’s poetry at A Level.
The first lesson gives a brief overview of her life and then a focus on extracts of Goblin Market, allowing student discussion as well as teacher input. They are mostly tailored to the Eduqas exam board but will be suitable for any introduction to her poetry.
The next two lessons impart key contextual details surrounding Rossetti’s life and influences on her poetry - including her home life, religious influences, Victorian society, Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and critical interpretations of her writing.
These lessons include 3x powerpoint’s with accompanying worksheets/resources, home learning activities and some wider reading opportunities for students.
