This Alphabet Character Card Set is a fun resource designed to support early literacy skills. Each letter of the alphabet is represented by a colourful character in both uppercase and lowercase, helping children with letter recognition, phonics, and word-building.
There is a planning sheet included with 6 suggested activities.
The laminated cards allow for hands-on activities such as tracing, sorting, and matching.
Children can engage in a variety of learning experiences, including identifying and naming letters, ordering them alphabetically, and matching uppercase and lowercase pairs.
Speaking and listening games encourage communication skills, while sorting activities help children group characters by colour, character features, or letter type (vowels and consonants).
The set also supports early spelling by allowing children to place vowels in the middle of consonants to form CVC words. By tracing letters and copying them onto whiteboards or paper, children can develop their handwriting skills.
This versatile resource is perfect for individual, paired, or small group work, making it a valuable addition to phonics lessons, literacy corners/tables, and whole-class activities.
Suitable for use with both EYFS and KS1 children.
