If you’re unsure about the quality of Safeguarding in your setting, a good starting point is a Safeguarding Audit, followed up with a Safeguarding Action Plan. This Safeguarding Audit resource is broken down into categories, including Policies and Procedures, Staff Awareness, Roles and Training, Governing Body, Communication, Reporting and Record Keeping, Recruitment, Selection and the Single Central Record (SCR), Site Management, On-Site Safety and Off-Site Safety, so that you can assess the quality of the provision your setting provides. This resource is useful for all senior leaders, including headteachers, deputy heads, assistant heads, pastoral leads and designated 51ºÚÁÏ leads (DSL). This may also be a good tool to use with a 51ºÚÁÏ link governor or the wider governing body. This audit covers all aspects of 51ºÚÁÏ as outlined in the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
