Lesson 4: All thing to do with markets. Market structures and competitiveness in the market from perfect competition to monopoly. Mass versus niche markets and an in depth analysis and discussion as to why Amazon will never be beaten. The content is beginning to gain depth and students can begin to explore and analyse business situations.
This presentation includes and references: market structure, market share, mass marketing, niche marketing, economies of scale, backwards vertical integration, forwards vertical integration, added value, diversification, the concept of the free market, how businesses compete, dynamic markets, the role of the CMA (competition and markets authority) and generic products. It’s a big brain one!

Use the PPT to stimulate discussion as a class or use the included slides to use paired discussion. Get them to explore what they know because they live in the capitalist business world.
• Allow students to use the PPT to answer questions at the end, as an independent exercise.
