Here are the worksheets I use when measuring mass using balance scales in KS1. Included are 5 worksheets; each has been differentiated 2 ways. That’s a week’s worth of mass worksheets, plus there is an added bonus challenge at the end. These worksheets allow children to use their mass/ measurement vocabulary and their reasoning skills. These clip cards are a great way for students to practice their knowledge of one more using a multiple choice system. 43 cards are included which cover the concept of one more using various visual representations, with missing addends and on a number line. Each card has three possible answers. Students select the correct answer by clipping a clothespin, peg or paper clip to it. I like to laminate these cards so students can simply circle the correct answer using a dry erase marker. Task cards can be given as an activity, as something pupils do if they finish early, as a plenary or can be given as a challenge at the end of an activity. These 48 task cards have been designed for Key stage one children. They are ready for home learning too as there is no prep.
