In this activity, students will learn how the Phoney War unfolded after Britain and France declared war on Germany in 1939, examining the reasons for their inaction and the consequences of their defensive strategies. They will explore how Germany used this period to strengthen its military position, ultimately leading to the rapid invasion of Western Europe in 1940.

It has 9 questions for students to answer, as well as a paragraph response section for them to demonstrate their understanding of the topic.
