This is a complete KS2 or KS3 grammar lesson (approx 1 hour to 1 and 1/2 hours), including a slide show and worksheets, introducing the concept of pronouns (including possessive pronouns and personal pronouns) and prepositions (including of time and place). It also recaps how to use possessive apostrophes, adjectives, adverbs. I taught this to a high-achieving Year 4 class, who really benefited, but it is probably best for a Year 5 or 6 class preparing for SAT SPAG tests, or a Year 7 class needing a recap. I also used it for a Year 7 high-achieving EAL group. I hope that you find it useful! :)
The slide show takes about 30 minutes to get through, and includes activities to complete as a class on an interactive whiteboard that can be written on. There are 4 worksheets, which become progressively more challenging, and took my class between 25 and 40 minutes to complete, and we marked together as a class.
I recommend completing the activities on the board as a class, writing answers onto the slides. I also recommend using mini personal whiteboards, especially for the final quiz section.
The slide show has been made on google slides, but I have included a powerpoint version (although this might need to be adapted for your personal computer). The sheets are made on Apple pages for Mac, but I have included a version adapted to Microsoft word. If it doesn’t adapt perfectly to the software you use, you can copy and paste it onto your processing document of choice - I worked hard on these activities, so I think they’re worth the effort!
