Word problems using money and the four operations.
This is a full module introducing an approach to the longer questions posed in the Edexcel Functional Skills 1 and 2 exams. First, the student completes a skills check which includes all the skills that will be required to solve the word problems.
The student needs to practise any skills that they identified in the skills check before moving on to the longer questions.
Each problem is presented two or three times. First, as a one step problem and then subsequently with further steps added. This enables the learner to find a way in to the longer problems which can seem daunting if not encountered before.
The material is provided as a PDF workbook and as a powerpoint for use in class or for online learners.
