
This is a lesson I used myself to teach the Energy in Ecosystems concept of the Energy Transfers Unit - A level Biology, AQA specification.
Learning objective: To compare productivity of ecosystems and how this can be measured and impacted.
By the end of the lesson learners should be able to:

SC1: Describe effects that lead to an increase in biomass.
SC2: Calculate NPP, NSP, GPP and evaluate these methods.
SC3: Analyse population graphs and explain trends linking this to succession.
NPP - Net primary productivity
NSP - Net secondary productivity
GPP - Gross primary productivity
