What word was chosen by young people as their ‘Word of the Year, 2024’? (OUP - children aged between 6 and 14.) It was ‘kindness.’ So, our new song inviting people to ‘be kind, brave and bold,’ is right on track. If we could all treat others with kindness, who knows how much it could help them and make us feel good too.
Mix in being brave and bold and you could be on the way to being ‘The best that you can be.’

There is a lyric sheet and some worksheets with ideas and answers to go with the video. Version 2 of the worksheet is more gender neutral if you require that.

Choosing the right path is not always an easy route and discussing these ideas reflects a growing awareness among young people of the impact of mental health, and the contribution that being kind, brave and bold can make to mental wellbeing.
It’s a stonking good song to singalong with and there’s plenty to discuss.
It would make a great lesson starter for Personal, Social, Health, Moral, Economic Education & Citizenship lessons or Assemblies at school, but equally would be good fun to watch at home or to help when learning English.
