AQA English Language Paper 1 Section A lesson that explores how a writer uses language to build up a dramatic opening to a text and helps to control this through the use of narrators and perspectives as well. A fully differentiated and resourced lesson that analyses the opening paragraph of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code for how the writer creates drama effectively. Students use role play to analyse and evaluate the writer’s use of language to build up a sense of drama for the reader.
