AQA English Language Paper 1 Q5/creative writing/Section B/narrative writing lesson that explores developing a short description of setting in order to build tone and atmosphere.
We look at an exam task about a human meeting an animal and use this stimulus to aid students in creating their own short descriptions of setting from their story.
We explore how we can use the five senses to establish setting, zoom in on smaller details and evaluate the effectiveness of our own settings using peer assessment and success criteria.
