Hi - I appreciate the feedback! The pack does state it's two answers of varying quality, and in this case that results in an answer scoring 12 and one scoring 16. The 12 is readable without needing to pay for the resource, and it does miss out explicit reference to feedback cycle examples, instead choosing to focus heavily on the mitigation strategies, which is why it scores lower. My students find this really useful as they too can often focus too heavily on one part of the question and not enough on the other, so analysing this answer to see why it scores 12 has been really fruitful for them. The second answer however does make explicit reference to the feedback systems - it talks about the positive loop of climate change leading to drier weather, increasing risk of wildfires, which then release carbon, further contributing to climate change, and also discusses the importance of reforestation in restoring climate patterns, talking about the feedback cycle whereby trees transpire, adding moisture to the atmosphere, leading to the formation of clouds, which leads to rain and more regulated plant growth and therefore storage of carbon. Appreciate the feedback though, and will rework the one scoring 16 to make those feedback references even more clear.
