Brand new PSHE lesson all about how video platform algorithms (such as YouTube and Tiktok) can lead us to viewing extreme ideas without us ever intending to. The lesson investigates what algorithms are, what algorithm complacency is, how we are allowing platforms to shape our views and interests and what this may mean for wider society. Students will examine case studies of students who stumbled upon extreme videos or radical movements and see how they arrived at this content from first watching innocent or benign videos aligning with their interests,
Students will complete a wide range of tasks, literacy-based, creative, case studies, analysis and clip tasks. Everything is editable and easy to just pick up and use. All information need is included.
