This Action and Movement resource supports early years children in developing movement vocabulary, coordination, and physical confidence.
It includes two colour pages, each showing 8 children and black-and-white versions for colouring and labelling.
Also included is a set of 16 word and picture cards (in colour and black-and-white) showing the simple action images with matching words.
Uses in the Classroom:
Movement Sessions: Children can copy, match, or act out the movements shown.
Move to Music: Play music and pick cards to inspire different movement styles.
PE Activities: Warm-ups or cool-down games using the cards and pictures.
Action Sequencing: Children pick a few cards to create their own short dances or movement routines.
Literacy Links: Support understanding of action words and develop early reading skills by matching words to actions. Supports writing with labelling pictures.
Creative Play: Use the cards in role-play areas to encourage imaginative movement games.
