Across seven lessons, with an optional eighth filler lesson, students will explore key elements of ancient Greek performance, design their own masks inspired by Greek myths, and collaboratively devise their own short performances based on a myth of their choice.

Key Features:

  1. Lesson Structure: Each lesson centers around a clear Key Question (KQ) to guide learning and reflection.

  2. Creative Outcomes: Students design and create their own Greek theatre masks, connecting art and storytelling.

  3. Performance Skills: Pupils develop core drama techniques including:
    -Three freeze frames
    -Three step outs
-Three pieces of narration performed as a chorus
-Use of canon and unison to enhance group performance

  4. Myth-Based Devising: Pupils select a Greek myth to inspire their devised performance, encouraging understanding of narrative and character.

  5. Flexible Planning: Includes an optional eighth lesson for additional practice or catch-up.

Ideal for developing confidence, teamwork, and dramatic skills, this resource supports teachers with structured lesson aims and a focus on classical theatre traditions tailored for primary learners.
