Primary PSHE - Year 5 - Safe Relationships Scheme of Work

This 6-week scheme of work is taken from the EC Publishing Primary PSHE scheme.

Our progressive curriculum builds sequentially year on year, culminating in this Year 5 unit on Safe Relationships. This unit will deepen students’ understanding of different family structures and what makes relationships positive and loving. Students will explore topics such as recognising safe strangers (both on and offline), understanding personal boundaries, and identifying different forms of abuse, including domestic abuse and FGM. They will also learn how to seek help if they feel unsafe or are concerned about the safety of others, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate relationships safely.

You can find the bundle here: Year 5 - Safe Relationships Bundle

The unit includes the following lessons:
1. Positive Relationships
2. Loving Stable Families
3. Love and Abuse
4. FGM
