This brand new year-long scheme of work is taken from the EC Publishing Primary PSHE scheme.
It consists of 36 lessons taught over six half terms, following the PSHE Association’s suggested themes: Health and Wellbeing, Relationships Education, and Living in the Wider World.

Year 5 - Climate Change

Our progressive curriculum builds sequentially year-on-year, culminating in the Year 5 Protecting Our Environment unit, which deepens students' understanding of environmental issues and climate change. Students will explore key concepts such as the causes of climate change, the importance of sustainable living, and actions we can take to protect the planet. They will also learn about the role of democracy in addressing environmental challenges, examining ways individuals can influence government policies on climate change and environmental protection. Year 5 - Growing and Changing

Our progressive curriculum builds sequentially year-on-year, culminating in this Year 5 unit, Growing and Changing. This unit will deepen students' understanding of how to express and manage emotions, including the concept of mixed emotions. Students will explore topics such as self-esteem, body image, and the physical and emotional changes boys and girls experience during puberty. They will also learn how these changes affect their feelings and relationships, providing them with tools to navigate this important stage of growth.
