Funny, competitive and useful resource to learn new vocabulary in the target language. It is also very easy to adapt to any language.

How to prepare it:

  1. Take any text from your textbook.
  2. Select 10 or 15 words/sentences that you want your students to find.
  3. Write down the English for those words/sentences in the target language in the section of comments within the last slide of PowerPoint.

How to use it in class:

  1. Project the resource in class
  2. Say the first sentence in English to all pupils at the same time.
  3. They have to find the target language for that sentence, write it down and memorize it.
  4. Once the students have memorized the sentence, they have to come to you and tell you the sentence in the target language.
  5. If the student says the correct sentence, say to him/her the sentence that he/she has to find next.
  6. Repeat until the last sentence is found.

This resource has funny animations and effects to make the activity more engaging. Students will be able to know who is at the lead because in the last slide there is a kart that is moving based on who is the first one at finding the sentences. You only have to press next when the student or group that is at the lead finds the sentence.

Personally, I like to play gaming music related to racing when I am doing the activity to encourage engagement.
