This assembly focuses on highlighting resilience and integrity as the two main pillars of becoming a positive role model in society.

It also then goes through examples of how you can build both your resilience and integrity. It then touches upon on misogyny and the influence of Andrew Tate.

Importantly, i stressed that AT is not all bad. He has a number of redeeming characteristics which is what makes him dangerous. Young people have to be able to discern between those who appear to be positive but actually are spreading a toxic, harmful message.

The talk ends with the importance of role models. I stressed that if i was hoping for students to complete a piece of work, the first thing i would do is show them an example of a good one. Therefore, who you choose as your role model is almost definitely what they will turn out to be like.

Throughout the assembly, I stressed the idea that students should imagine the people who could potentially be mistreated as their mum, sister, friend. I found this helped with them empathising with this ‘hypothetical’ person.

I hope this helps. Please get in touch you’d like to discuss this further.

Best of luck and thank you for your hard work,

Mr Hobbs
