This Excel Workbook is designed to support schools in reviewing what they are putting in place for students with additional needs. It is particularly helpful when considering what reasonable adjustments might be appropriate for a student.

It has a cover page and then one page for each of the SEND areas in the code of practice – communication and interaction, cognition and learning, SEMH and sensory/physical needs. There are 50 suggested adaptations or provisions that might be suitable for each area of need. And space to record any student requested adaptions or provision. It hoped that it will help school staff to have positive and supportive conversations with students and families about what might help their child to be successful in school. It can be much easier to start this conversation with some ideas for suggestions such as those listed here.

The spreadsheets have a drop down to allow you to record if things are required using the status column options and if they are effective when you review and update. You can print the entire workbook to create an A4 booklet to keep on file or share.
