This resource is designed to let you model the process of respiration from glycolysis to Krebs, including chemiosmosis. The large-scale model allows pupils to interact with the molecules involved in respiration and visualise the full processes. So much of what we deal with in science cannot be seen and models help provide a tangible focus as well as motivating pupils. Used as a focus for teaching and discussion, it can give an insight into your pupils’ current understanding and any misconceptions. The ability to move the molecules, add and remove carbons and enact the role of oxygen and the co-enzymes, provides a hand-on learning experience and brings the topic to life.
